Hospital performance report cards

Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Services
Unlike most hospital studies, the HCAHPS survey, launched in 2008, provides a patient's-eye view of how a hospital performed. It asks patients how well doctors and nurses communicated, how well staff informed them about medications, how quiet and clean the rooms and surroundings were, and more. It also includes two overall ratings of the hospital. Hospitals administer the survey, with the results compiled by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. CMS developed the survey with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and it has been endorsed by the National Quality Forum.

The following reports are in PDF format; you'll need Adobe Acrobat installed to read them.
